EDU 344 PRABE 8

I have read and finished Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel
They finally reached Joe and he showed up at the hospital 5 days after the accident. Joe noticed immediately that her belly was flat. He was told that she lost the babies which he thought was baby. He was so worried now that Kate would die. Kate finally woke up after 7 days and had to be told about the babies. She was so upset that she had to be sedated.
Kate came home from the hospital in April and still by September, no one could reach her, not even Joe. Kate went through more than a year of depression and kept pushing Joe further away. After more than a year of this and Joe being gone for work all of the time, Joe dedided it was over. He was leaving Kate. Kate and Joe had been separated for about a year when he called to see how she was doing. They agreed to have lunch and from there they decided that they never wanted to be apart. They got back together and lived happily until Joe's death.

EDU 344 PRABE 7

I read Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel for at least 90 minutes.
Joe and Kate went to city hall and got married. Joe decided to tell Kate about Andy's visit and why he had ended it with her. Kate was appalled and assured Joe that it was all a lie. She told him that it nearly killed her when she lost him but she had never considered taking her own life.
Joe was spending more and more time on the road. He would spend weeks in California and Hong Kong and it is taking a toll on Kate and their marriage. She tells Joe how lonely she feels. He says that he understands but he has to be away for his business. By the time they were married a year, Joe was spending more time away than at home.
Joe decided that he spent so much time in California that he decided to buy a house. They moved in in September.
Kate was complaining of spending more and more time alone so Joe set aside all his work to spend the holidays with his family. It was just after the new year when Kate was taking down the tree that she fainted. Joe was very worried and insist that she see a doctor. Kate told him not to worry that she wasn't sick, she was pregnant. Joe was angrier than she had ever seen him. He insisted that she have an abortion which she refused to do. She said that she was going to have the baby even if it cost her her marriage. Joe left the next morning for a four week trip to Europe without even saying goodbye. Joe returned from his trip and asked Kate how she was feeling. She told him she did not get the abortion. He said that he knew. He didn't understand why she wanted the baby but he had accepted it.
Andy had remarried and had a new baby. He called to cancel his visit with Reed because he couldn't pick him up. Kate offered to drive him to Greenwich. Kate dropped Reed off and headed out about a quarter till 8. At midnight, Kate still hadn't made it home. There was a sitter with Stephanie.
Andy went looking for Kate and found her at the hospital. She had been hit by a drunk driver and had lost her babies. She was now fighting for her life and Joe was nowhere to be found.

Prabe #6

I read Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel for at least 90 minutes
Joe and Kate continued to see each other while Andy was away. As a matter of fact, he stayed at the apartment with Kate and Reed. Kate continued to write to Andy, mostly about Reed and in August, she and Reed went to spend a week with her parents at the Cape.
Joe showed up at the Cape and Kate's parents suspected there was something going on between the two of them which she denied. She enjoyed spending time with Joe.
By the end of September, Joe and Kate had been living together for two months. Joe wanted Kate to divorce Andy and marry him. After several long discussions, Kate decided she would. Andy was to be home the next day.
Andy returned and Kate was very standoffish towards him. She wanted to tell him she wanted a divorce but he would not listen to her. She told him that is what she wanted but he refused to grant her a divorce. Without Andy's consent, their would be no divorce. Kate went to Joe and told her of Andy's decision. She knew there was nothing she could do.
Andy went to see Joe the next day. He told Joe that Kate was fragile and couldn't handle what this was doing to her. He lied to Joe and told him she had tried to commit suicide when she had left him before and she was now seeing a psychiatrist twice a week. Joe believed everything Andy was telling him. He couldn't take the chance of Kate hurting herself so he did what he had to do. Joe broke it off with Kate.
Andy and Kate stayed married but they lived in separate bedrooms with separate lives for nearly 14 months. Kate got drunk on New Year's Eve and slept with Andy. By the end of January Kate knew she was pregnant and she told Andy. Andy could see how miserable the two of them were and he told Kate he was moving out.
Kate waited until the baby was born and then when Stephanie was four weeks old, she went with the kids to Reno to get a divorce. Andy had told her to go back to Joe but she knew that he was engaged to somebody else now. Kate and Joe ran into each other buying Christmas trees. She told him of her divorce and about Stephanie. He said that his engagement wasn't going well. They asked each other if they thought it could work again with them. They decided they should try again and Joe broke off his engagement and went to Kate's apartment to be with her and the kids.

EDU 344 PRABE 5

I read Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel for more than 90 minutes.
Joe and Kate decided to get married and went back to New Jersey to work together. Christmas and New Years Eve came and went and the topic of marriage was never discussed again. Joe was working harder than ever and Kate thought the two of them would never be married. Joe said that he was too busy to think of marriage right now. He had to and wanted to concentrate on his work.
Kate was now working for Joe full time and making a sizeable salary but, that is not what she wants. She wants to be Joe's wife.
Kate and Joe discussed kids which he did not want and he was beginning to not want marriage. He told Kate that his business was too important and that if she wanted to be with him she would just have to continue living the way they had been. This was not enough for Kate so she made the hardest decision of her life and left Joe.
Kate moved back to her parents and saw nothing of Joe. She tried to get on with her life although she had left that life behind when she was with Joe. She then decided to move to New York and got a job in a museum.
It had been nearly a year since she and Joe had been apart when she ran into Andy in the grocery store.
Andy and Kate started seeing each other and soon decided to get married. Kate's parents were thrilled and four months later, she and Andy were married.
Three weeks after their honeymoon, Kate finds out she is pregnant. They are bot thrilled. Eight months later their son Reed was born.
When Reed was 2 1/2 months old, Andy found out he would be participating in the war trials in Germany and he would be gone for four months. Kate knew she would miss him but he had to do this. Andy left the first of July.
One day, Kate was pushing Reed in a pram around the park when Joe suddenly appeared. Joe and Kate caught up with each others lives and he gave them a ride home. Kate thought that was the end of it.
Kate thought about Joe a lot that night and the next morning. The phone rings and it is Joe. He wants Kate to join him for lunch and see the new building. They went to lunch and saw the building and then Kate returned home. The next day, Joe brought lunch up to Kate's apartment. They spent a lot of time talking and Joe was sorry he lost Kate and he still loved her. She realized that she still loved him but didn't want to hurt Andy. Joe ended up spending the night.

EDU 344 PRABE 4

I read Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel for at least 90 minutes. Kate returned to school and she and Joe continued to write to each other. Kate's day was going just fine until she received a phone call from her father. She was very worried because Clarke never called Kate at school. She was worried when she took the call. She thought something had happened to her mother. Kate was right to be worried. Clarke was calling her to tell her that Joe was missing in action. His plane had been shot down over Germany and he had not been found.
Of course, Kate was worried about Joe but school and life had to go on. In May, Kate graduated with her parents and Andy attending. Kate wasn't sure what to do with her summer so she went to work for the Red Cross again that summer. It had been 21 months since Joe was reported MIA when he was found. He was found in a German war camp. Kate worked for the Red Cross so she was able to meet the ship that Joe was on. He was weak and had broken legs but he was still alive. Joe spent two months in the hospital recovering and then he went to stay with Kate's parents.
After his recovery, Joe was honorably discharged from the service and was ready to go on with his life. Clarke was curious if his futute involved Kate. Clarke wanted Joe and Kate to get engaged but Joe was not ready for that yet. He was starting a job in New Jersey and knew he wouldn't have time for Kate right now. He could have her in his life but he was not ready to be married. Kate wanted to be close to Joe and she would visit him often in New Jersey. They didn't like this arrangement so while everyone thought Kate was living in a hotel, she was really living with Joe. Joe had told Kate about the talk he and Clarke had had about Kate. Clarke had told Joe he was going to lose Kate if he didn't marry her. Kate let Joe know that there was no chance of that happening. She loved him.

EDU 344 PRABE 3

For more than 90 minutes, on October 23,2011, I read Danielle Steel's Lone Eagle.
We ended off with Joe and Kate saying good-bye as the United States has just entered the second world war and Joe is going England to be a fighter pilot.
It was a grim Christmas and Kate was missing Joe. She stayed in at her parents house during the holiday away from school. Her good friend Andy (he wanted to be more) tried to get her to go out but she felt she was being unfaithful to Joe.
Kate went back to school in January and filled her days with classes. She would fill her evenings writing to Joe or having dinner with Andy in the cafeteria. She and Andy were becoming close friends.
The months went by and the war went on. In May, Andy graduated from Harvard on his way to law school. Kate took a summer job with the red cross and Andy worked at the hospital.
Kate continued her work with the Red Cross until the last two weeks of summer which she spent with her parents in the Cape. As she was standing by the campfire one night remembering the year before when Joe showed up there, a familiar voice sounded beside her. It was Joe and he was on two weeks leave.
As well as Kate, Clark and Liz were happy to see Joe home safe. They invited him to stay with them in Boston as Kate had to be returning to school. Kate and Joe had a wonderful time during his stay. They knew they loved each other and that was all that mattered. Clark and Liz wanted to know what he intended and he told them he loved her but would not marry her to make her a widow. Kate understood this and she was happy with what she had. It was September of 1942 and they had two wonderful weeks together and then said good bye as Joe left for England.
The war and school went on. Joe was flying into Washington to receive a medal and he took Kate to the Whitehouse with him to receive it. They met up in Washington at the same hotel, separate rooms. It was three days before Christmas.
After the ceremony, they stayed in the hotel lobby talking until it got to cold to stand. They knew they could trust each other so they went up to Joe's room to continue talking. It was warmer up there. One thing led to another and they stayed the night together. Neither one was sorry but it had to stay their secret. Joe left for England the next day.
The war went on and Kate went bacl to school. Kate had been sick for the last few months and everyone was worried about her. She wouldn't see a doctor and she said she had the flu but, she knew that she was pregnant. She didn't tell Joe because she didn't want to worry him. She told no one else for obvious reasons. Kate wasn't sure what to do at first. She knew she would have to leave school and her parents would be disappointed. She did know that she loved Joe and wanted to have his baby.
Kate was three months pregnant when she was hit and knocked unconcious by somebody on a bicycle. Besides the pain and the bruising, she lost her baby that night. Two of her roommates figured out what was happening to her and helped her. She didn't tell her parents or anyone else what had happened.
Kate finished her term at school and worked for the Red Cross again for the summer. Of course the last two weeks were spent in the Cape. This time there was no Joe but life went on.
It's October now and Kate is back in school when she has a visitor; it's Joe. He had to be in Washington on business and has 24 hours to spend with her. They go to a hotel and register as husband and wife. Kate decides to use birth control and she tells Joe about the baby she lost.
They spend a wonderful evening and morning together. Joe takes Kate back to school and off to Washington he goes.

EDU 344 PRABE 2

Kate has started at Radcliffe and Joe has gone to California to work on his planes. Kate has promised to write Joe and she does. She writes to him of the goings on at school and her world. She is feeling more and more for Joe as he is for her although, neither one of them will admit it.
Just before Kate is to go home for Thanksgiving break, she receives a call from Joe. He has told her that he has flown east to do some consulting with Charles Lindbergh and will be in the area for a few days. Knowing this, Kate asks Joe to fly to Boston from New York to have dinner with her and her family. Joe has noone else to spend the holidays with and he wants to see Kate so, he accepts.
Kate and Joe seem inseperable over the holidays. The day after Thanksgiving, Joe has a surprise for Kate; he takes her to see his plane. Kate is very interested and fascinated with his plane that he offers to take her flying. She can't believe it but she says yes as long as they keep it a secret and don't tell her mother. Kate has a memorable time on her flight and she and Joe seem to care more and more about each other the more time they spend together. Joe has to return to California and Kate to school so they say their good byes.
Kate is back in school and she and Joe still write and he even calls her occasionally. It is getting close to Christmas and Kate's parents are giving her a debutantes ball just before Christmas. Kate wants to ask Joe, she is just waiting for the right time. It doesn't seem to come.
Kate is talking with her mother on the phone when everyone in the dorm goes into a panic. Pearl Harbor has just been bombed by Japan. Joe calls Kate and tells her the knews and that he has to be in Washington and then he is off to England to join the war effort; pilots are always needed.
Joe and Kate are only able to spend 9 hours together before he has to leave. They spend the day talking and enjoying each others company. Finally, Kate tells Joe she loves him. He said that he did not want that to happen because he didn't want her to sit and wait on him in case he didn't come back. He doesn't say I love you back. They go to the airport and it is time for Joe to leave. He kisses Kate good bye and heads to board the plane. Just before he does, he shouts out to Kate that he loves her.
