EDU 344 PRABE 8

I have read and finished Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel
They finally reached Joe and he showed up at the hospital 5 days after the accident. Joe noticed immediately that her belly was flat. He was told that she lost the babies which he thought was baby. He was so worried now that Kate would die. Kate finally woke up after 7 days and had to be told about the babies. She was so upset that she had to be sedated.
Kate came home from the hospital in April and still by September, no one could reach her, not even Joe. Kate went through more than a year of depression and kept pushing Joe further away. After more than a year of this and Joe being gone for work all of the time, Joe dedided it was over. He was leaving Kate. Kate and Joe had been separated for about a year when he called to see how she was doing. They agreed to have lunch and from there they decided that they never wanted to be apart. They got back together and lived happily until Joe's death.

EDU 344 PRABE 7

I read Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel for at least 90 minutes.
Joe and Kate went to city hall and got married. Joe decided to tell Kate about Andy's visit and why he had ended it with her. Kate was appalled and assured Joe that it was all a lie. She told him that it nearly killed her when she lost him but she had never considered taking her own life.
Joe was spending more and more time on the road. He would spend weeks in California and Hong Kong and it is taking a toll on Kate and their marriage. She tells Joe how lonely she feels. He says that he understands but he has to be away for his business. By the time they were married a year, Joe was spending more time away than at home.
Joe decided that he spent so much time in California that he decided to buy a house. They moved in in September.
Kate was complaining of spending more and more time alone so Joe set aside all his work to spend the holidays with his family. It was just after the new year when Kate was taking down the tree that she fainted. Joe was very worried and insist that she see a doctor. Kate told him not to worry that she wasn't sick, she was pregnant. Joe was angrier than she had ever seen him. He insisted that she have an abortion which she refused to do. She said that she was going to have the baby even if it cost her her marriage. Joe left the next morning for a four week trip to Europe without even saying goodbye. Joe returned from his trip and asked Kate how she was feeling. She told him she did not get the abortion. He said that he knew. He didn't understand why she wanted the baby but he had accepted it.
Andy had remarried and had a new baby. He called to cancel his visit with Reed because he couldn't pick him up. Kate offered to drive him to Greenwich. Kate dropped Reed off and headed out about a quarter till 8. At midnight, Kate still hadn't made it home. There was a sitter with Stephanie.
Andy went looking for Kate and found her at the hospital. She had been hit by a drunk driver and had lost her babies. She was now fighting for her life and Joe was nowhere to be found.

I read Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel for at least 90 minutes
Joe and Kate continued to see each other while Andy was away. As a matter of fact, he stayed at the apartment with Kate and Reed. Kate continued to write to Andy, mostly about Reed and in August, she and Reed went to spend a week with her parents at the Cape.
Joe showed up at the Cape and Kate's parents suspected there was something going on between the two of them which she denied. She enjoyed spending time with Joe.
By the end of September, Joe and Kate had been living together for two months. Joe wanted Kate to divorce Andy and marry him. After several long discussions, Kate decided she would. Andy was to be home the next day.
Andy returned and Kate was very standoffish towards him. She wanted to tell him she wanted a divorce but he would not listen to her. She told him that is what she wanted but he refused to grant her a divorce. Without Andy's consent, their would be no divorce. Kate went to Joe and told her of Andy's decision. She knew there was nothing she could do.
Andy went to see Joe the next day. He told Joe that Kate was fragile and couldn't handle what this was doing to her. He lied to Joe and told him she had tried to commit suicide when she had left him before and she was now seeing a psychiatrist twice a week. Joe believed everything Andy was telling him. He couldn't take the chance of Kate hurting herself so he did what he had to do. Joe broke it off with Kate.
Andy and Kate stayed married but they lived in separate bedrooms with separate lives for nearly 14 months. Kate got drunk on New Year's Eve and slept with Andy. By the end of January Kate knew she was pregnant and she told Andy. Andy could see how miserable the two of them were and he told Kate he was moving out.
Kate waited until the baby was born and then when Stephanie was four weeks old, she went with the kids to Reno to get a divorce. Andy had told her to go back to Joe but she knew that he was engaged to somebody else now. Kate and Joe ran into each other buying Christmas trees. She told him of her divorce and about Stephanie. He said that his engagement wasn't going well. They asked each other if they thought it could work again with them. They decided they should try again and Joe broke off his engagement and went to Kate's apartment to be with her and the kids.

EDU 344 PRABE 5

I read Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel for more than 90 minutes.
Joe and Kate decided to get married and went back to New Jersey to work together. Christmas and New Years Eve came and went and the topic of marriage was never discussed again. Joe was working harder than ever and Kate thought the two of them would never be married. Joe said that he was too busy to think of marriage right now. He had to and wanted to concentrate on his work.
Kate was now working for Joe full time and making a sizeable salary but, that is not what she wants. She wants to be Joe's wife.
Kate and Joe discussed kids which he did not want and he was beginning to not want marriage. He told Kate that his business was too important and that if she wanted to be with him she would just have to continue living the way they had been. This was not enough for Kate so she made the hardest decision of her life and left Joe.
Kate moved back to her parents and saw nothing of Joe. She tried to get on with her life although she had left that life behind when she was with Joe. She then decided to move to New York and got a job in a museum.
It had been nearly a year since she and Joe had been apart when she ran into Andy in the grocery store.
Andy and Kate started seeing each other and soon decided to get married. Kate's parents were thrilled and four months later, she and Andy were married.
Three weeks after their honeymoon, Kate finds out she is pregnant. They are bot thrilled. Eight months later their son Reed was born.
When Reed was 2 1/2 months old, Andy found out he would be participating in the war trials in Germany and he would be gone for four months. Kate knew she would miss him but he had to do this. Andy left the first of July.
One day, Kate was pushing Reed in a pram around the park when Joe suddenly appeared. Joe and Kate caught up with each others lives and he gave them a ride home. Kate thought that was the end of it.
Kate thought about Joe a lot that night and the next morning. The phone rings and it is Joe. He wants Kate to join him for lunch and see the new building. They went to lunch and saw the building and then Kate returned home. The next day, Joe brought lunch up to Kate's apartment. They spent a lot of time talking and Joe was sorry he lost Kate and he still loved her. She realized that she still loved him but didn't want to hurt Andy. Joe ended up spending the night.

EDU 344 PRABE 4

I read Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel for at least 90 minutes. Kate returned to school and she and Joe continued to write to each other. Kate's day was going just fine until she received a phone call from her father. She was very worried because Clarke never called Kate at school. She was worried when she took the call. She thought something had happened to her mother. Kate was right to be worried. Clarke was calling her to tell her that Joe was missing in action. His plane had been shot down over Germany and he had not been found.
Of course, Kate was worried about Joe but school and life had to go on. In May, Kate graduated with her parents and Andy attending. Kate wasn't sure what to do with her summer so she went to work for the Red Cross again that summer. It had been 21 months since Joe was reported MIA when he was found. He was found in a German war camp. Kate worked for the Red Cross so she was able to meet the ship that Joe was on. He was weak and had broken legs but he was still alive. Joe spent two months in the hospital recovering and then he went to stay with Kate's parents.
After his recovery, Joe was honorably discharged from the service and was ready to go on with his life. Clarke was curious if his futute involved Kate. Clarke wanted Joe and Kate to get engaged but Joe was not ready for that yet. He was starting a job in New Jersey and knew he wouldn't have time for Kate right now. He could have her in his life but he was not ready to be married. Kate wanted to be close to Joe and she would visit him often in New Jersey. They didn't like this arrangement so while everyone thought Kate was living in a hotel, she was really living with Joe. Joe had told Kate about the talk he and Clarke had had about Kate. Clarke had told Joe he was going to lose Kate if he didn't marry her. Kate let Joe know that there was no chance of that happening. She loved him.

EDU 344 PRABE 3

For more than 90 minutes, on October 23,2011, I read Danielle Steel's Lone Eagle.
We ended off with Joe and Kate saying good-bye as the United States has just entered the second world war and Joe is going England to be a fighter pilot.
It was a grim Christmas and Kate was missing Joe. She stayed in at her parents house during the holiday away from school. Her good friend Andy (he wanted to be more) tried to get her to go out but she felt she was being unfaithful to Joe.
Kate went back to school in January and filled her days with classes. She would fill her evenings writing to Joe or having dinner with Andy in the cafeteria. She and Andy were becoming close friends.
The months went by and the war went on. In May, Andy graduated from Harvard on his way to law school. Kate took a summer job with the red cross and Andy worked at the hospital.
Kate continued her work with the Red Cross until the last two weeks of summer which she spent with her parents in the Cape. As she was standing by the campfire one night remembering the year before when Joe showed up there, a familiar voice sounded beside her. It was Joe and he was on two weeks leave.
As well as Kate, Clark and Liz were happy to see Joe home safe. They invited him to stay with them in Boston as Kate had to be returning to school. Kate and Joe had a wonderful time during his stay. They knew they loved each other and that was all that mattered. Clark and Liz wanted to know what he intended and he told them he loved her but would not marry her to make her a widow. Kate understood this and she was happy with what she had. It was September of 1942 and they had two wonderful weeks together and then said good bye as Joe left for England.
The war and school went on. Joe was flying into Washington to receive a medal and he took Kate to the Whitehouse with him to receive it. They met up in Washington at the same hotel, separate rooms. It was three days before Christmas.
After the ceremony, they stayed in the hotel lobby talking until it got to cold to stand. They knew they could trust each other so they went up to Joe's room to continue talking. It was warmer up there. One thing led to another and they stayed the night together. Neither one was sorry but it had to stay their secret. Joe left for England the next day.
The war went on and Kate went bacl to school. Kate had been sick for the last few months and everyone was worried about her. She wouldn't see a doctor and she said she had the flu but, she knew that she was pregnant. She didn't tell Joe because she didn't want to worry him. She told no one else for obvious reasons. Kate wasn't sure what to do at first. She knew she would have to leave school and her parents would be disappointed. She did know that she loved Joe and wanted to have his baby.
Kate was three months pregnant when she was hit and knocked unconcious by somebody on a bicycle. Besides the pain and the bruising, she lost her baby that night. Two of her roommates figured out what was happening to her and helped her. She didn't tell her parents or anyone else what had happened.
Kate finished her term at school and worked for the Red Cross again for the summer. Of course the last two weeks were spent in the Cape. This time there was no Joe but life went on.
It's October now and Kate is back in school when she has a visitor; it's Joe. He had to be in Washington on business and has 24 hours to spend with her. They go to a hotel and register as husband and wife. Kate decides to use birth control and she tells Joe about the baby she lost.
They spend a wonderful evening and morning together. Joe takes Kate back to school and off to Washington he goes.

EDU 344 PRABE 2

Kate has started at Radcliffe and Joe has gone to California to work on his planes. Kate has promised to write Joe and she does. She writes to him of the goings on at school and her world. She is feeling more and more for Joe as he is for her although, neither one of them will admit it.
Just before Kate is to go home for Thanksgiving break, she receives a call from Joe. He has told her that he has flown east to do some consulting with Charles Lindbergh and will be in the area for a few days. Knowing this, Kate asks Joe to fly to Boston from New York to have dinner with her and her family. Joe has noone else to spend the holidays with and he wants to see Kate so, he accepts.
Kate and Joe seem inseperable over the holidays. The day after Thanksgiving, Joe has a surprise for Kate; he takes her to see his plane. Kate is very interested and fascinated with his plane that he offers to take her flying. She can't believe it but she says yes as long as they keep it a secret and don't tell her mother. Kate has a memorable time on her flight and she and Joe seem to care more and more about each other the more time they spend together. Joe has to return to California and Kate to school so they say their good byes.
Kate is back in school and she and Joe still write and he even calls her occasionally. It is getting close to Christmas and Kate's parents are giving her a debutantes ball just before Christmas. Kate wants to ask Joe, she is just waiting for the right time. It doesn't seem to come.
Kate is talking with her mother on the phone when everyone in the dorm goes into a panic. Pearl Harbor has just been bombed by Japan. Joe calls Kate and tells her the knews and that he has to be in Washington and then he is off to England to join the war effort; pilots are always needed.
Joe and Kate are only able to spend 9 hours together before he has to leave. They spend the day talking and enjoying each others company. Finally, Kate tells Joe she loves him. He said that he did not want that to happen because he didn't want her to sit and wait on him in case he didn't come back. He doesn't say I love you back. They go to the airport and it is time for Joe to leave. He kisses Kate good bye and heads to board the plane. Just before he does, he shouts out to Kate that he loves her.

EDU 344 PRABE 1

October 9, 2011, I read Lone Eagle by Danielle Steel for more than 90 minutes.
The story starts on a December day almost exactly 34 years after Kate and Joe met. Kate is sitting around thinking about her husband (Joe) when the phone rings; she thinks it is Joe. He is a test pilot and is away in California. It is not Joe, it is his assistant. He has called to tell Kate that there has been an accident and Joe's plane exploded over Albuquerque and he is dead. Kate is devastated by her husbands death. She sits and thinks of him and remembers the day they met.
Go back 34 years. Kate Jamison and Joe Allbright are at the same debutante's ball. Kate is there with her parents, Clark and Elizabeth Jamison. Clark adopted Kate after he married her mother a year after Kate's father had committed suicide after the stock market crash. Neither Clark's nor Elizabeth's finances were affected in the crash so, Kate lived a comfortable life. Joe came to the party with his good friend and partner Charles Lindbergh.
Kate and Joe bumped into each other at the buffet table and sat and talked for two hours. Joe learned that Kate was waiting to be accepted to Radcliffe and that she was from a wealthy family and that she was only 17 years old. Kate learned that Joe was a pilot, that he had been raised by cousins and had an awful childhood, and that he was 29 years old. Joe and Kate had a wonderful time getting to know each other and Joe had promised to take Kate flying if her parents would allow it. Kate introduced Joe to her father. Clark was a big fan of Joes and told him he was more famous than he thought. Joe told Clark of the offer to fly them and they all said their good byes as Joe has to leave for California for work.
Eight months later, Kate and her family are spending their summer at the Cape. Kate has thought about Joe constantly but he has never called. At a campfire on the beach, Joe and Kate run into each other and it's just as if they have been friends forever. They catch up with each other on what they have been doing and decide to take a walk on the beach. They are gone for quite a while enjoying each others company. Each has feelings for the other but neither will admit it. Joe has thought of Kate just as often as he has him.
Kate is going to be off to school and Joe will be back in California. Joe asks Kate to write and she says she will. She thinks Joe just wants to be friends.

After a discussion about her leaving Bettina and Ivo come to the conclusion that they are in love with each other and should be married despite the fact she is 19 and he 62. They are married.

Prabe #5

I read 90 minutes of Loving by Danielle Steel.
The books starts with Bettina Daniels, 19 year old daughter of Justin Daniels hosting a party. Justin Daniels is a famous author and lives his life to the hilt. Bettina's mother died when she was four years old. She has been Justin's party planner, secretary, and just his right hand since she can remember.
It is an extravagant party at the Daniels apartment and Bettina plays hostess perfectly. Ivo, who is Justin's oldest and dearest friend is at the party as well as two to three hundred other people.
The party is going well but Bettina notices how tired Justin looks. The party is a success and life goes on as normal the next day. Bettina goes off to classes at the local college while Ivo and Justin get together for lunch. Ivo too notices that Justin seems extra tired. Justin tells Ivo that something is wrong and then he collapses. Paramedics are called to no avail and Justin Daniels is pronounced dead.
Ivo has the terrible job of telling Bettina her father is dead.
After the funeral, visits are made with the attorneys and the truth comes out.
Although Justin Daniels and his daughter lived life to the fullest, there was no money left to take care of Bettina. In fact, the Daniels estate was 4 million dollars in debt. All of the property of value would have to be sold: antiques, paintings, furniture, several houses, and the apartment.
Bettina goes on living her life and doing everything she can do to prepare for selling all the possessions in the apartment. A date is set for the auction and Bettina and Ivo attend. Ivo buys Justin's desk for Bettina as she wants to be a writer someday and could use the desk. Bettina has to leave her apartment because it has been sold. She plans on moving to a hotel but Ivo won't hear of it. She moves into his guest bedroom.

Prabe #4

I read and finished to love again for 90 minutes on June 9, 2011.
Isabella and Corbett began spending time together discussing the fashion business as they were both in it. They became closer and soon fell in love.
Corbett would take Isabella for long drives in the country and would go on her evening walks with her. He was also spending more time with Alessandro too as he was falling in love with both of them.
At first, Isabella was reluctant as she felt she was doing a disservice to Amadeo but, the more she and Corbett spent together, she fell in love with him too.
April and May passed by and the business was doing well. Bernardo told Isabella that it was beginning to be too much for both of them and she should consider selling the house of San Gregorio. He told her the name of the man making the offer and she went through the roof. His name just happen to be Corbett Ewing. Isabella was very upset because she thought he didn't really love her and that he was trying to get close to her and her son to get her company. She broke off her relationship with Corbett and went back to Italy to get her business in order. While in Italy, she decided to move most of her company to New York. Bernardo helped her make the arrangements and close out her house in Italy. She went back to New York to run her company and be with her son.
After getting her business set up and herself and Alessandro, she received a disturbing call from Bernardo. The police in Italy had caught the kidnappers and murderers of her husband and she would have to return to Italy to testify. In the mean time she had told Corbett to stay away from her and her son.
While in Italy the trial was very hard for Isabella and Bernardo knew it. He knew Isabella was in love with Corbett and he secretly called him to come and be with Isabella. Corbett arrived and went to court with Isabella everyday until the trial was over.
On the plane back to New York, they stated their love and need for each other and knew they would be together forever; however long forever is.

I read To Love Again by Danielle Steel for 90 minutes on June 02, 2011
After arriving at the airport, Isabella, Alessandro, and Natasha were taken to Natasha's apartment by her good friend Corbett. Everything is still being done in secret to protect Isabella and Alessandros safety.
After arriving in New York, Natasha sets Isabella up with an office in her apartment and the nanny that takes care of Natasha's son, Jason also takes care of Alessandro.
Isabella's first day in the apartment, she calls Bernardo to let him know she has arrived safely and to check on the business. There are a few items Isabella has to address with her summer line but she is able to manage everything over the phone.
While they are trying to live a normal life, Isabella feels trapped by never being able to go anywhere in public so, she and Natasha begin taking walks at night. It's not much but it does get Isabella out of the apartment.
Jason and Alessandro are the same age so when it is time for Jason to go to school, Natasha suggests that Alessandro go to. They use a different last name for he and Isabella and while he speaks no English, he attends school with Jason. Slowly his English gets better and he is enjoying school.
Isabella feels guilty for Natasha never going out and insists she picks up her social life again.
Isabella is still feeling cooped up. It has been 7 months since Amadeo died and she feels she is now safe enough to go out in public as long as they are cautious.
Against Natasha's better judgement, she agrees to get Isabella a ticket to a movie premiere. She is to come in after the movie has started and leave as soon as it ends. Things didn't quite work out as planned. Natasha and Corbett went to the premiere where Isabella was to meet them. Getting her to the movie and inside was not problem. The problem came during intermission. Isabella went to the lobby to get a drink with Corbett and was seen by photographers from several fashion magazines. Her photo was taken by them and she and Corbett ran out so as not to be seen. They snuck off in his Rolls Royce and was taken back to Natasha's apartement without anyone knowing who she left with or where she went. The next morning, her picture was all over the front page of the paper and everyone knew she was in New York. She was pretending to be hiding out in her penthouse in Rome and now she was seen in New York. Bernardo released a statement that she went to New York after her summer fashion line was debuted and now would be living in France. She and Alessandro were still safe in New York, for the moment.

I read To Love Again by Danielle Steel for more than 90 minutes; I had to finish the chapter.
We come back into the story with the funeral of Amadeo. There are many people and a police escort as Amadeo San Gregorio was a very talented and famous in the world of fashion.
Bernardo suggests Isabella and Alessandro go to the states to get away from the pain of Rome and Amadeo's death.
Isabella and Alessandro have round the clock body guards because of threats and prank phone calls she has been receiving.
She returns to work full force feeling the need to take Amadeo's place. She won't even let Bernardo help as much.
Life goes on day by day with the routine of Isabella going to work with her body guards while Alessandro is at home with his and not even allowed to go to school.
Bernardo spends Christmas with Isabella and Alessandro. During this time, Bernardo states his undying love for Isabella. He tells her he has always loved her and would like to be a husband and father to her and Alessandro. She lets him know that they will always be friends but she still love Amadeo.
With the work load of the business, Bernardo tries to talk Isabella into selling the business and getting away with the boy. They need time together to heal and they need to be safe. Bernardo suggests again that they go to the states. Isabella is dead set against selling or leaving Rome.
Isabella was still getting prank phone calls and one day in the office she received the worst. The caller told her that he had Alessandro. She was hysterical with fear and she, Bernardo, and the guards rushed home as they could not get through on the phone. When they arrived, Alessandro and his nanny were nowhere to be found. Isabella was still in a panic when they arrived a short time later from a walk. She could no longer take the stress or the fear of something happening to her son. She decides to secretly take her son to New York to stay with her best friend and old roommate. All of this was to be done in secret for safety purposes.
Bernardo and Isabella get business in order as she is going to work in New York.
Secretly, Isabella, Alessandro, Bernardo, and the security guards sneak out of Rome to France. After arriving in France, Isabella and Alessandro along with a new set of guards takes a flight to London. From London, they all fly to New York.
Isabella and Alessandro leave the airport with her best friend Natasha to start their new secret life.

I am an avid reader of Danielle Steel so of course my first book I chose to read is To Love Again. The book is set in Rome with two very famous fashion designers, Isabella and Amadeo SanGregorio. Isabella comes from a fashion design family in Paris when she marries and joins Amadeo. They are very famous and very wealthy people in Rome and respected by everyone that knows them. They also have a four year old son Alessandro who is mostly raised by his nanny.
Isabella and Amadeo are working together in their fashion design business with the second hand man Bernardo.
Amadeo is very generous to Isabella and showers her with fine jewelry. Bernardo is worried about them flaunting their wealth as it could cause them to be victims of kidnapping. Sad to say but, Bernardo is right.
Isabella has left to go to lunch and Amadeo is lured from the building by two men that say they have hit his car. Amadeo goes outside to see the damage and is kidnapped.
Isabella can't figure out where her husband is that evening as they are late for a dinner party. Later in the evening, she receives a call from the kidnappers demanding 10 million dollars and for her not to call the police.
Bernardo talks her into calling the police and they are supposed to wait through the weekend and pay the money on Tuesday. All the assets have been frozen by the police so Isabella takes her jewelry to a friend (a jeweler) to sell for cash. An employee of the jeweler leaks it to the press that she has sold her jewelry. The kidnappers find out and call off the deal. Amadeo is found dead the day.
This is just a starter page to see if I did this correctly. I sure hope I did because this is new to me.
